Edgerley to Ironbridge
Setting out from Edgerley you
Head down river through the upper flood plains passing nesscliffe military training grounds and heading under Thomas Telfords historic Montford Bridge with the option to stop at the Wingfield Arms for lunch.
After that you head down for a couple hours to the Hire a Canoe "Wild Site" for the night. Here there is a fire pit and a long drop toilet.
The longest day of the trip you will need a relatively early start to head down into the Medievil town of Shrewsbury where you will pass the town walls, castle and Shrewsbury School. Mid way through the day you will have to negotiate Shrewsbury Weir which means unloading your canoe and carrying it around which can take up to 40 minutes, there is however, a fantastic little cafe next to it where you can get a tasty bite to eat.
next you will head down past Attingham park and into Atcham where you have the opportunity to stop at the Mytton and Mermaid pub before a short trip down to the National trust Campsite.
Dropping down into the stunning Ironbridge gorge and towards the historic village of Ironbridge where you will end your adventure surrounded by industrial revolution relics.
